Sesame Ahi Tuna Steaks
1teaspoonsoy sauce
1teaspoonsesame oil
black pepper
2(6-8 ounce)ahi tuna steaks
6-8baby bok choy, cut in half
4 1/2teaspoonswhite sesame seeds
4 1/2teaspoonsblack sesame seeds
1tablespoongrapeseed or canola oil
cooked rice, for serving
scallions for garnish
Dipping Sauce
1tablespoonsoy sauce
1 1/2teaspoonsmaple syrup or honey
1 1/2 teaspoonsrice vinegar
Instructions
Sesame Ahi Tuna Steaks
Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and some black pepper together in a small bowl. Rub all over both sides of tuna steaks.
Steam bok choy. Place baby bok choy in a pot with 1 inch of water. Steam over high heat for 5-7 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix white and black sesame seeds together and spread out on a plate. Dip tuna steaks to coat both sides with sesame seeds.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear tuna for 1 minute per side. Remove to a cutting board and let rest 5 minutes before serving. (During this time, you can make the dipping sauce.)
Serve tuna steaks with steamed baby bok choy, rice, and dipping sauce. Garnish with scallions.
